What is your wattage?

What is your wattage?

Easter is just gone and though we might still have some Easter eggs left (I finished my internationally sourced Easter eggs already - - - chokomilo) … some of us have already forgotten why we celebrate Easter.

To me, what we do is confess and proclaim our belief in the Jesus who died on Good Friday…..who also rose on Easter Sunday….. And after all these, we start living like on the evening of Easter Monday….. He died again.

Jesus did not rise on the third day to die again, He rose and He is still alive. It’s high time we learnt to stay awake and not fall back to sleep……the slumber of indecisiveness… lack of direction… procrastination… inability to take action (lack of faith)…etc

Jesus said
I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! (Rev 1 vs 18). And in Colossians 2:13, the bible says “…… God made you alive with Christ…..”

Listen to this….. Jesus is alive for ever and ever and we are connected to him (made alive with him)….... so we have an unending source of provision for whatever we need and whatever we want to be according to His will. (1 john 5:14).

In reality though, the opposite seems to be the case…….we most times do not grow as tall as we should neither do we shine as brightly as we could.

I was listening to my pastor’s message over the week and He highlighted this very fact…. that

“The boundary of your ability can be set by the extent of your capacity”

Using the illustration in His message as below

The amount of Electrical Voltage supplied by your regional grid can be assumed to be infinite (inexhaustible) relative to the amount you will you in your house. If you then put a 40W bulb in your room, you will get the brightness that corresponds to the capacity of a 40W bulb. If you use a 60W bulb, your room is lit better and brighter ........ and if you use a 100W bulb, your room will be nothing short of glowing .……all without a change in the supply from your regional grid.

Likewise, as a Christian, your brightness is dependent on your wattage capacity.

Shining in all areas of our lives is what we have been called to do (Mathew 5: 14-16) and God through His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue (1Peter 1:3). In essence, we have what it takes to be overcomers but do we have what it takes to recieve more?

If there is a good time to increase your capacity…. It is now. God is raising an army of warriors to accomplish His end time plans and as He said in His word, there is an outpouring of His spirit and He is in search of the willing at heart (True worshippers). The creation is waiting eagerly for your manifestation (Romans 8:19) ………..but until you increase…… He might not just release.

In the next couple of weeks, I will share some thought on some ways to increase your wattage.....

And as you might guess…..calling Sottish Power is not one of them…. Stay paged at www.renzguy.blogspot.com

I found what you wrote really brilliant, but for the sake of clarity, your saying “The boundary of your ability can be set by the extent of your capacity”
If am not mistaken, you are saying, that my ability depends on my capacity. ok, if that’s right, I kind off interpret capacity as fixed, Using this illustration of water being emptied into a glass using a bottle and water being emptied into a pool using a tanker, the capacity of the glass is obviously smaller than that of the pool, which I solely agree with you on “if we do not have the capacity to receive more, He might not just give us more” obviously because if the tanker where to empty into the glass it would be a waste. Your saying “If there is a good time to increase your capacity…. it is now”. Are you saying it is actually possible to increase the capacity of the glass? How then would it be increased? Is it the capacity which needs to be increased?

Hi and thanks for your comment. To start with, I have now posted a follow up to the first part of the article "what is your wattage" with "what is your wattage (CONTD)" and it tells practical ways of increasing your capacity.

Can your capacity be increased?...my answer to that is probably not...but lets take a look at the capacity we have.

Phillipains 4 vs 13 says
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

and God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness (1 Peter 1 vs 3). also in John 14 vs 12 Jesus said
"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."

Paul explained in a nice way the flexibility of how you can turn a glass into a pool
"To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some" (1 corinthians 9 vs 22)

To put all this in context, although we can do all those things as listed above because God gave them to us, there is an inner capacity/restriction that is put on us by a host of other factors like education, experience, society, ignorance and self.

We can increase by knowing more, we can increase by doing more.... As you rightly said, the capacity of the glass may not increase, but it is assumed to be performing at its ultimate best....

Are you performing at your ultimate best?

You may not be able to increase your God given capacity... simply because it is limitless..... but you can increase your capacity to know and utilize your God given capacity.

Hope this is helpful... please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

I was in doubt of possibilities in increasing my capacity, but from the bible verse ("I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.") you put up, I've come to realise I can actually increase my capacity and also start working towards performing at my ultimate best with faith. Thanks am kind of clear on that now.
